Share a recording

Every session is recorded by default. You can share a specific recording with a stakeholder without giving them broader VaultPAM access.

Steps​

  1. Open Sessions from the sidebar. Use filters by date, user, Safe, or target.
  2. Click the session you want to share. The recording player opens.
  3. Click Share in the player toolbar.
  4. Pick how to share:
    • Time-boxed link — a URL valid for N hours (default 24 h). The recipient does not need a VaultPAM account. Optional watermark with recipient email.
    • Grant to a VaultPAM user — pick a user in your org; they get read-only access to this single recording in their dashboard.
  5. Confirm the expiry and optional watermark.
  6. Copy the link (or send from the in-app email form).

What the recipient sees​

  • The recording player with scrub, speed control, and (where available) an activity timeline.
  • No download button unless you tick Allow MP4 export (which triggers async server-side transcoding).
  • An audit event is written every time the recipient opens the recording.

Revoke early​

From the same Share dialog you can revoke the link at any time. A revoked link returns 403 to the recipient and emits an audit event.
